Annual event celebrates breast cancer survivors

Richmond, Va. (Oct. 19, 2016) – HCA Virginia’s John Randolph Medical Center will hold the 2016 Pink Ribbon Tea & Fashion Show – an event to honor breast cancer survivors and their families.

The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. in the Beacon Theatre, 401 N. Main St., Hopewell. Admission is free, but reservations are required by calling 804.320.DOCS (3627).

This year’s speakers and topics will include:

  • Ashley Johnson, R.N., oncology nurse director at John Randolph Medical Center, who will present “Breast Cancer Prevention and Risk Factors.”
  • Karen Roesser, director of oncology practices, Johnston-Willis Hospital, who will talk about “HCA Services for Breast Cancer Survivors.”
  • Dr. Nilda Tensen, medical director, John Randolph Medical Center Emergency Department, who will discuss her journey as a breast cancer survivor.

The event also will feature music and the latest fashions modeled by cancer survivors and provided by Weston Manor Gift Shop.
