Cancer Care, Close to Home
From education and diagnosis to treatment and remission, our oncology staff is here to take care of your needs. In 2005 our Oncology Program was granted a three-year approval with Commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
We also have a close relationship with the Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital on the Johnston-Willis campus of CJW Medical Center.
We provide individualized treatment, taking each patient through the cancer journey spiritually, emotionally, physically and psychologically. Available services include an inpatient unit, an outpatient infusion area, chemotherapy and outpatient services such as blood transfusions, injections and biopsies.
Our PET/CT Scanner (Positron Emission Tomography) is our newest diagnostic technique. It combines the best of the PET and CT scanners so that doctors can more accurately diagnose and treat various types of cancer.
We also offer Cancer Help, a touch-screen computer program with up-to-date information on cancer, oncology protocols and clinical trials.
In addition, the Mammography Department at John Randolph has passed the Food and Drug Adminstration's yearly Mammography Quality Standards Act Inspection. Congress passed the Mammography Quality Standards Act in 1992. The act was established to assure consistent quality among mammography facilities and to ensure that women have the opportunity to access quality mammograms.
Quality mammograms help identify breast cancer at its earliest stages when it is more easily treated. "The technologists at John Randolph are dedicated professionals whose desire is to provide the quality care that each of their patients deserve," stated Rhonda Minson, Director of Radiology at John Randolph.
